If you are primarily a WATCHER, you need clear and specific demonstrations of the skills to be incorporated into your skiing. Make sure demonstrations are given by a qualified professional. Once you have taken a mental note of these images, they will be difficult to erase. As a DOER, you will not be happy spending your time listening to lengthy explanations. An instructor needs to help you decide what you are trying to accomplish and help set realistic goals so you can then go attempt it. If you are a FEELER, you need to have a qualified ski instructor design specific drills which will separate the sensations and improve body awareness. Your image of achievement is comprised of feelings and sensations. Finally, the THINKER, will need a solid technical understanding of what you are trying to achieve. A knowledgeable instructor will be able to discuss the reasoning behind the technique. Try to blend some other elements of the learning styles into your own. |

Do you learn by watching someone else, by thinking through things in your mind, feeling which muscles you use, or by just doing it?
